CLEAR VISION

Clear vision means that you have a concept which is both precise and explicit.  You want your vision to be as clear as possible.  You have to specify every detail of your vision.  A clear vision is precise, detailed, explicit, and complete.

Let’s say you want a car.  That isn’t very explicit, is it?  You now have a budget of $30,000.  What is the make and model of the car you want?  If you don’t know this, you would look around and see what is available.  Then you would find the body style, the color, the upholstery (leather or fabric), the color of the upholstery, and other features.  Is it a 2 door or a 4 door or an SUV? Is it a station wagon?  What size is the engine?  What color is the carpet?  Is the mpg important to you?  Do you finance it or pay cash?  What would be your maximum down payment?  What else can you think of about this hypothetical car?

What if your dream car doesn’t exist?  Make a list of: what is most important, what is important, what is least important, and what doesn’t really matter at all.  This way you are being even more explicit, but without making compromises which you don’t want to make.

Write down all the specifications for your dream car.  Write down what matters most to what matters least about this new car of yours.  Yes, this is an exercise but it is a good one to do because when you are better at being explicit and in planning in great detail, this can be applied to your life.  Why didn’t anyone else ever tell us to do this and that it is vital to success?  Well, we can’t blame others for where we are, unless we want to relinquish our power to those whom we blame.  So, we must take responsibilty for where we have put ourselves, make a clear vision of what , where, how, and why we want to achieve things and then do the next step.  Now is a great time to break the pattern of thinking followed by not doing.

Write down your clear vision of you singing at the artistic level that you desire.  Make your statement of your clear vision explicit and complete.  When you are performing, how do you sound?  How do you look?  How do you move? Where are you performing?  What are you singing?  Is it a song that you wrote?  How much are you being paid for singing?  Are you on a concert tour, promoting your latest songs? How many people make up your organization?  What do they do and how do they make your life a joy to live?  Be very specific and very explicit.  You can even use pictures that you cut out and paste or glue onto a board, or tack up onto a bulletin bard.  You can make a screen saver of these and look at them several times a day.  Why?  You have to get the clear vision firs or nothing will happen after.
